How would you describe your style?

We like to describe our style as modern and a little moody, but also very documentary as well. We don’t try to force moments and let them unfold naturally so that you are always at ease. We may offer suggestions for the best times of day for portraits and even give you some prompts to make you feel comfortable but we will never be intrusive during the moments your family and friends came to see. We don’t ask you to pose to get a better shot, we aim to capture the true moments you live during your wedding day.

How do I book you for our wedding?

Do you offer any add-ons items?

Yes, we do offer several add-ons for your wedding. For more information on what add-on items we provide, please check the pricing plans under Our Services.

How many cameras will you use for our wedding?

We typically use up to 4 cameras for each wedding we have the pleasure of being a part of. Sometimes 1, 2, or 3 cameras are rolling continuously through the ceremony or speeches. Sometimes 1 or 2 cameras are recording shots for the highlight film, which these clips can be shorter in length. Please note that the cameras will not be rolling from the time we arrive to the time we leave (we’d need some huge batteries, as well as massive amounts of storage since everything we shoot is in 4K or higher quality).

 

Why choose a photo and video team over separate vendors?

Having a team that works together frequently on your wedding day will not only make it easier for you and your partner to communicate with us, but it will also guarantee consistency throughout your deliverables. We ensure that your photos and videos won’t be compromised because of miscommunications and different styles of workflow during your wedding. We also work with other teams extremely well if you choose to go with someone else for video or photo because we understand how important they both are. We aren’t there for our portfolios, we are there for you and your story!

Where are you based and do you travel?

Swoon Creative Collective is based out of the PNW area and we service the entire West Coast and beyond. We love to travel! Contact us for a quote on travel costs to your city.

Do you charge for RAW footage?

We do charge for RAW footage as it is only playable by expensive editors straight out of our cameras, so we spend time converting all of it before sending it out to our couples. We also donate all the proceeds to local animal rescues and non-profits throughout the year. The cost of the RAW footage also includes a 1 Terabyte Hard Drive for keeping your memories safe and secure! You can also upgrade to a solid state drive for an additional fee and peace of mind.

What is RAW footage?

RAW Footage is everything that we record throughout the day, straight out of camera. This is a great way to relive your day, clip by clip. We typically use up to 4 cameras for each wedding to capture every angle of your ceremony and speeches, however in your RAW footage, these clips will not be edited together like in our Ceremony Edit or Speeches Edit. Please note that the cameras will not be rolling from the time we arrive to the time we leave (we’d need some huge batteries, as well as massive amounts of storage since everything we shoot, is in 4K or higher quality).
Please also be aware that all RAW footage is not color corrected or color graded and may not always include audio depending on how it was recorded. 

Do you use popular music in your edits?

We license all the music we use in our wedding films, therefore, we cannot use popular mainstream music in your wedding film edit. We do try to find music that fits your personality and vibe of your wedding day. Sometimes popular music can be licensed for a fee depending on the label. If there is a song you are set on having in your wedding film, please let us know and we can inquire with the record label on the cost to license. Please note that this can range from $5000 per year depending on the artist.
Some consequences of using licensed music include your wedding film possibly being removed from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, or other social media platforms for copyright infringement. Using licensed music is always the best way to keep your memories online and safe for years to come!  

What will be the duration of the film?

We offer a 5-7 minute highlight film for all of our packages. This range gives us the creative license to make a compelling and engaging film, because each wedding day is different. Depending on your ceremony and the number of speeches, the length of your Ceremony and/or Speeches Edit will vary.

Will you fly a drone at my wedding?

This is a question we get asked lot of times. We love to make it happen when we can! Flying a drone depends on the weather and location permitting. The FAA can fine up to $5000 for flying a drone in areas which are not approved. Please contact us to check whether or not your venue is cleared for take off.

How long does it take to receive our Photographs and Videos?

Turn around times for both Photo and Video ranges from 8 weeks to 20 weeks depending on the season and our current workloads. We strive to get these precious memories to you as fast as possible while maintaining the quality you expect.

Will it be Jen & Cody at our wedding?

The short answer is…Yes! We will always be available (Jen & Cody) at your wedding unless otherwise specified before a contract is signed and any payments are recieved. The only time we will send anyone else to capture your most special day is if something beyond our control stops us from getting to your wedding. We also plan ahead with all of our destination weddings and allow ourselves plenty of time to be there for you on your special day. Rest assured, you will receive the same quality and consistency you see here on this site when it comes to your memories!

We want privacy, we don't want our film to be online.

Your privacy is important to us. If you don’t want us to feature your film online for whatever reason you might have, please let us know when inquiring. It may require a special revision in our contract and an extra fee since we cannot use the footage for our promotional purposes. Contact us for more information.

How long have you been filming weddings?

Helping couples capture the emotion and connection on their wedding day is a special honor we discovered in 2017 when a dear friend trusted us to capture their wedding. That was when Swoon Creative Collective was born!

Do you offer discounts for off-season weddings?

We only take a limited number of weddings a year so that we can provide quality work for each of our couples. The amount of work is the same, no matter what day it is. Venues and other vendors will often offer discounts on these days as they want to fill out the calendar and by the time your wedding is finished, their job is done. However, our job is just beginning! We still have to put your photo album and wedding film together. Elopements and weddings are taken on an availability basis and are individually quoted based on your needs. Please contact us for more information!

Our date is already taken! Can your company still film our wedding?

We wish it could have been yours! However, you can contact us and we will provide you some awesome referrals if we are booked for your date!

Do you store our wedding Album and distribute it anywhere?

Yes, we do store your complete wedding album on our own private, secure server for one year. We store your album so that it is protected and only you are authorized to view/download; we do not distribute it anywhere. Your privacy is important and your data is safe with us! We also offer annual data storage, with redundancy, as an add-on so that you can have peace of mind your memories will be safe in the event of catastrophic loss.

Unfortunately, we lost our wedding album. Can you provide us another copy?

If you have lost your album due to any reason, we can absolutely provide you with another copy. Please note that we do charge a fee to issue a second copy of your wedding album, including a fee for a new external hard drive.
